What is Cat's Corner?

Cat's Corner was founded by Jean Denney and Frankie Hoang in 1999 as a group of dancers who strive to spread the history, tradition and art of Lindy Hop swing dancing in the greater Kansas City area. Following their goals, we hope to create a unified community of Lindy Hop dancers who come together often to share, enjoy, and grow in this original American art form. And of course, we just have one heck of a good time jamming on the dance floor doing Lindy Hop. 

 What we do:

  • Provide Lindy Hop dance instruction that remains true to the spirit and style of the art while encouraging innovation and originality
  • Create an atmosphere where all dancers -- whether absolute beginners or experienced Lindy Hoppers -- can continually grow and learn
  • Provide opportunities for people to share and enjoy Lindy Hop socially
  • Teach respect and appreciation for other styles of swing dance and other forms of dance as well
