The Red Vine closed for business on 25 April 2006, and gave a farewell party the night of the 28th (friday)

I found out when I walked up to the Red Vine for a meal during dinner break at City in Motion rehearsals at the GEM for their concert (20th Anniversary) the next evening. It was bit of a shock. I always feel the hurt of a business going out of business. I really hate to see this but I don't think they ever got enough traffic through there. I really think there is a problem with attracting businesses and other enterprises in the "Jazz District." I won't know how to fix it but I remember a few years ago when I talked to the owner of the Mardi Gras Club (now also closed) who wanted to know where the promises of traffic were. He had already waited several years and nothing was building at that point. So now, a really nice restaurant and dancing place, The Red Vine, is gone.

These are few pictures from the starting night tango at the Red Vine.
