Elvis Parade - 2006

Max, Tanna, and Moffitt Present The 19th Annual ELVIS PARADE!!

At Barney "Elvis" Plaza
(Barney Ellis Plaza)
11 August 2006
Downtown Kansas City, Missouri

Okay, so what can anyone say but, If you were'nt there you "shoud-da bin." The usual fun and silliness - good times. Fun costumes and serious fun with those elvis entertainers. The parade still goes down three blocks north and three blocks back. It started as one block and I kind of miss the home-spun fun of that but more people just kept coming each year. This is year 19 for the Kansas City Elvis parade put on by KY 99.7.

For me this was the first year Nicole wasn't able to attend, but she sent dancers. The parade has been on the first friday in August for so long that this year's second friday was a surprise. Nicole was scheduled to deliver a paper in Montreal over the weekend and her department came up with the money so she was committed. This was a sociology convention and saturday Nicole had lunch with Dr. Ruth and tripped around a bit with her, all 4-foot 7-inches of her.
